Korean BBQ Beef and Rice Bowl

Experience the spicy and savory flavors of Korea with this Korean BBQ beef and rice bowl. Marinated in a blend of garlic, ginger, and gochujang chili paste, the beef is grilled to perfection and served on a bed of fluffy rice with a colorful array of veggies. Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 4 cups cooked brown rice
  • 1 cup steamed broccoli florets
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, stir together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, gochujang, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Put the beef strips into the marinade and allow them to sit for at least 30 mins.
  3. Turn up the heat on a grill or grill pan. Remove the beef from the marinade and grill it for two to three minutes on each side or until it's done.
  4. Serve the grilled beef on top of the cooked brown rice. Top with the steamed broccoli florets and chopped green onions. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and additional gochujang, if desired. Serve hot.
