Pan Fried Scallops

Scallops cooked in a pan are a tasty and elegant dish that can be a main course or an appetizer. The scallops are seared until they are golden and crispy on the outside and softened and juicy on the inside. This recipe is easy to prepare and takes only a few minutes to cook.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. fresh sea scallops
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • Salt and crushed pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Sprinkle the scallops with salt and crushed pepper on both sides. In a non-stick skillet, heat the butter with olive oil over moderately-high heat until the butter is melted and the pan is hot.
  2. Add the scallops to the pan, leaving enough space between them to avoid overcrowding. Cook the scallops on each side for about 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown, crispy outside, and opaque in the center.
  3. Remove the scallops and serve them hot with lemon wedges.
