garlic butter mushrooms and onions

Sautéed mushrooms and onions are a delicious side to add to your grilled chicken, salmon or even simply by itself as a quick snack. 


  • 1 lb sliced baby Bella mushrooms 
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1 large sweet onion
  • 4 cloves minced garlic or garlic paste
  • red pepper flakes to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • parsley or cilantro to garnish (optional)
  1. Pour olive oil over medium heat heat in a large skillet. Add your mushrooms and cook your mushrooms until brown.  (mushrooms retain a lot of moisture so it's best to cook over high heat and stir frequently to avoid burning)
  2. Add your sliced onions on medium heat until translucent.
  3. On low-medium heat add your butter and minced garlic or paste and stir. (garlic can be easily burned so stir frequently on low heat). 
  4. Salt and pepper to taste. If you want some heat then add red pepper flakes.
  5. Garnish with parsley or cilantro.
